Title: Web Browser Screen Shots
Post by: portalgod on August 25, 2006, 12:26:35 pm
Ok, I haven't seen a thread dedicated to this.  Lets see some screen shots from the following sites in Firefox/opera/Konqueror/etc .. Indicate the Zaurus, the ROM, and browser and version.

Is Minimo available on the Zaurus yet? I use it on my Universal and was wondering if I could get it for my Poodle too (Wrong forum, right thread?)

.... big and ugly... to me it looked and acts like a re-labeled dillo... *gags*

You woul be better off sacrificing the 10~15sec load time then running minimo..

It's more for the sake of keeping things the same.  There's no PocketFox yet, to my knowledge. (Or Google's)

..and you have a poodle, too. minimo's formatting stuff might actually be of use to you there. on  the vga screens it is just weird.

You mean the Single-Column thing? I turned that off. Opera worked fine on QT, I'm currently working out the best solution for the Poodle. . Although it's not very stable right now, so I'm using the Universal pretty much exclusively.

These have to be the worst screenshots ever... I run OpenBSD 4.0-current on a SL-C3000. I'm having some problems right now with konqueror-embedded, I will post better screenshots later! For now, I present you Links+!

Note that after the initial startup which can take as much as 5-6 seconds in a fullscreen remote X session, this browser is extremely fast, displays most webpages without horizontal scrolling, and supports the mouse wheel, if you have a mouse attached. But, it's not the cutest web browser out there...

Links+ - Graphical Mode, Running in a remote X session @ 640x480

Links+ - Graphical Mode, Running in a remote X session @ fullscreen on my widescreen laptop (i.e. without the Windows XP task bar, 1280x770)

Links+ - Text Mode, Running over SSH in PuTTY @ fullscreen on my widescreen laptop

Even though these three sites looked funny on Netfront, it is still my favorite browser.

Here are the screenshots for three browsers on the Sharp ROM

Netfront 3.0

Opera 7.30

Openmath (under X/Qt, because I can)

I was able to get it working on a SL-C3000 and cacko using the X/QT program that Meanie has provided.  I found it too small to be of much use.
