as subject?

Where can we see the source (if open)?
...
-
Answer myself:
--> This one? http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-linux-dynamic (http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-linux-dynamic) (is it for rpm only?) or: http://www.skype.com/download/skype/linux/ (http://www.skype.com/download/skype/linux/)
And how about the hardware requirements?
* 400 MHz processor
* 128 MB RAM
* 10 MB free disk space on your hard drive
* Sound card, speakers and microphone
* Internet connection (either dial-up: minimum 33.6 Kbps modem, or any broadband: cable, DSL, etc.)
Is Z's processor up to the job?
-
You forgot to mention an important requirement: an x86 processor.
Skype is not open-source, so we cannot compile it for arm/x-scale processors found in the zaurus.
There is hope yet, with Sony releasing a linux-based PDA called Mylo soon. It has an ARM9 processor, and will have skype included. I hope it will be able to use that on the Z too!
-
A sidenote:
Last summer I used KPhone/Pi with FreeWorldDial on my C860 (Cacko 1.22) when travelling in the States. It worked quite well.
Of course Skype is the king (if it works on Z)...

Let me guess, It's hack the packages time, Archos style. XD

Skype is a definite on Mylo, which runs Qtopia + linux... so maybe the binary can be hacked to run on the Zaurus!
Hopefully there wll be enough gadget fiends here on OESF to buy a Mylo and hack it!

Here is wi-fi Skype telephone from SMC:

Note this paragraph:
"Finally, while browsing through the Settings > Information menu, I came upon a 'Powered by TrollTech.com' logo. So I guess it's safe to assume one of TrollTech's products is at work in the WSKP100."
I would assume this device runs Qt.

some time ago lpotter commented that, when I asked about Skype and QT, that he couldn't comment, but so long ago I forgot all about it... I guess this is what he couldn't talk about.
Sadly, I'm sure Sony have probably done some special licensing deal making it impossible for others to benefit from this, but it won't be too long before its broken into I hope!
we probably need a new "Sony Mylo" forum section for people wanting to hack the device!
