Title: I Don't Have /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf
Post by: steelmole on September 03, 2006, 11:38:28 am
Should I make one?  I'm trying to add various lines to it as per this page:
https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Wireless_Card_Support (https://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Wireless_Card_Support)

Also the command # kill -HUP `cat /var/run/cardmgr.pid` doesn't seem to work.

It depends on your distribution and you wifi card. If you have a prism based card, you only need hostap_cs.conf.

My distrobution is cacko 1.23, my wifi card is sitecom and only seems to work with openzaurus.  I do not know if it is prism.

you still need the wlan-ng.opts, as these ARE used by cacko, because I think that hostap was not in original sharp rom, and Mas added hostap and to keep the network applet his scripts use the wlan-ng.opts to get started.

so, set up network options in QT gui, and it will create the wlan-ng.opts.
