Title: Best ROM for C860
Post by: Anonymous on March 02, 2004, 11:57:53 am: I have a dynamism C860 and I would like to flash a new ROM. I don\'t care about any of the Japanese language stuff, I would prefer an all English ROM. What works best and what would you recommend? I want to have full WiFi + Kismet and, if possible, bluetooth support (although latter is less important). A really good video player is also important (I encoded some pretty good wmv files that play nicely with the Sharp stock player). Also, if I export my existing installed apps before reflashing can I then import them after the new flash to get them all back? Please let a newbie have your advice. Thanks.

Post by: Anonymous on March 04, 2004, 08:27:58 am: The DL link i posted above was not the new qtopia rom 1.20, but appears to be a build from 24/02/04, newer than the last official release. Don\'t know what the differences are between that and the last official release, all ive noticed is a different boot up logo...

AFAIK the new qtopia rom is ready and will be uploaded somewhere soon by sash.... we all wait with bated breath :-)

I downloaded an X11 ROM from the cacko.biz webpage and could sucessfully install it on my Z C860. The release date was the 24.02.2004. Is this the ROM ypu\'re talking about? I had to uninstall it since all the PIM apps were missing and I didn\'t know exactly where to get them.

The \"suspend\" function on the tool bar was also not working.

Keep us posted when your new ROM is released.

Post by: maslovsky on March 05, 2004, 10:36:08 am: THE NEW RELEASE ROM IS slc7x0-Qtopia-1438050304.zip. This that is currenly on ZUG is interim build. It contains bugs.
I have no idea how this ROM you guys are downloading got out.
