Title: Looking For Power-on Password Application
Post by: gr8ful on September 19, 2006, 04:20:48 pm
I've looked in the Handheld Linux Software Index and several feeds and haven't found a suitable power-on password program.

Does anyone know of one that? :

1)  Requires password on power-on or returning from suspend mode.
2)  Ability to set password minimum length
3)  Password function can't be bypassed with a soft or hard reboot.
4)  Display hint if password forgotten.
5)  Has a configurable splash screen to display owner information when the device is powered on/un-suspended or when the incorrect password is entered.
6)  Nice to haves: a) lock-out infrared and all external data transfers   128-bit encryption of select files, directories, and entire external media cards (SD, CF)  c) Data self-destruct option

There are several good free, shareware and commercial applications for the Palm OS and I was hoping at least one of these has been ported for the Zaurus or that there is a suitable equivalent out there somewhere.

Thanks in advance
