Title: Java On Openbsd Zaurus

Java On OpenBSD Zaurus
------------------------------------

Well after 4 days of hacking away at GNU Classpath I finally got it to build correctly on my Zaurii. (The one in the ports collection is misconfigured for a Zaurii installation and fails to build correctly. I have contacted the maintainer in hopes of having it fixed.) Combining Classpath with Jikes and JamVM provides me with a Java environment which revivals those found on the Linux ROMS. Heres a screen shot of and link to the simple program I compiled with Jikes and ran via Jamvm+Classpath:

I'll post a package containing the classpath, jikes, and jamvm builds later this evening.

is your build using classpath 0.20 or 0.91? if you manage to get xmlj and jav2d support working as well, then you will be able to run jedit on your Z
you might also want to compile gcjwebplugin (java plugin for firefox/mozilla) which I did  for pdaXrom which was quite nice but a bit slow.

I built Classpath-0.91. I'm rebuilding it now with xmlj and jav2d. Hopefully it will finish sometime tonight. Compiling gcjwebplugin is useless since Firefox has not yet been built on the Z for OpenBSD.

EDIT1: Instead of rebuilding Classpath-0.91 I'm going to build Classpath-0.92 which has these extra config options by default.
EDIT2: Classpath-0.92 has built successfully!
EDIT3: Classpath-0.92 is really buggy! Downgrading to Classpath-0.91.
EDIT4: jEdit (http://www.jedit.org/index.php?page=screenshots) works fine with classpath-0.91.

I was considering sun's new "phoneME" GPL sources for zaurus java support. Seems like they made a PDA system for it? I think they renamed it recently too?
