I've been playing with H.264 a little while, and wanted to see if it worked on my trusty old C860, which still runs Cacko since I have't found anything with the ease-of-use that Kino2 offers on OZ or the others.
Anyway, I tried to play my files (encoded with latest avidemux into avi with h.264 and cbr mp3) and I get a second or so of the sound, and no video at all.
Running mplayer from command line tells me "Insane cropping not completely supported, this could look slightly wrong..." and "too many threads - error while decoding frame".
So I have three questions:
1. Is the C860 at all capable of playing H.264?
2. If so, what settings should I use? As with all codes, it has up to 100 settings to tweak...
3. Is there an ipk or something out there with latest mplayer (1.0pre8) built for sharp ROMs?

I will be very interested in a new mplayer build if it is able to playing avc1 codec.
Some Videocast are mp4 (ie H264 ???) and are viewable in kino2 some not.
The difference is the Video Codec info (File info in Kino2):
codec avc1 =>not good
codec mp4v =>ok
