On my SL-5500, I am having some issues with mp3 playback using xmms-embedded-20040347-r3, mostly spoken word (podcats). I have looked at the mp3 files and can't figure out where the issue is. Here is a sample list of mp3s on my Zaurus and their respective encoding:
Name____________Encoding____________Plays?
ITT______________96kb/22050Hz mono___Yes
BSG_____________56kb/44100Hz mono___No
Linux Action Show__64kb/48000Hz mono___No
LUGradio_________128kb/32000Hz mono__Yes
Network Security___25kb/44100Hz mono __No
TLLTS____________32kb/22050Hz mono___Yes
TWAT____________32kb/16000Hz j-stereo_Yes
Cory Doctorow cast_64kb/24000Hz j-stereo_Yes, but skips
I thought it might be a minimum bitrate level, however, the files don't show that. Has anyone seen this kind of issue with mp3 playback? I tried installing xmms-1.2.10, but its missing libxxf86vm1 (>= 0.0cvs20060102) gtk+-1.2 (>= 1.2.10) libxext6 (>= 0.0cvs20060102) libx11-6 (>= 6.2.1) libxau0 (>= 0.1.1).
Ideas?
Thanks,

Putting up a sample or a link does not seem to be such a bad idea if you want others to test.
