Title: "ghosting" Caused By R121?
Post by: Capn_Fish on October 31, 2006, 06:02:43 pm
I installed r121 on my C750 for a while, then restored back to beta 1. Both operations went fine.

Now I have some images "ghosted" on the screen. For instance, the Matchbox panel is solidly there, but then there is a faint "ghost" of it that appears to overlap it and is raised by about .5cm. The same thing is happening with some icons.

My question is, does r121 change any settings that would cause this? Would changing the COM and phase help?

Thanks!

adjusting com/phase would probably eliminate it.

I've got a thread somewhere about this. Definately try adjust those values. One of the steps of installing was to do a NAND erase, which resets these values.

Is there any rule of thumb for which to adjust and which way to adjust it or can somebody with a C750 share their values (if it works like that)?

Thanks.

I managed to figure it out. It didn't occur to me to look at the pinned threads. Oh, well. It only took two tries.

Sorry for repeatedly posting this, but is there anything other than com/phase which would help this issue? No matter how I adjust them on my C3100, there is always ghosting.

Thanks.

Not sure about beta1 but beta4 and above ignored values set up with the D+M menu ... instead zaurushw read some values from /etc/sysconfig/zaurushw.

I think that the old 2.4 kernel stuff might still read stuff from flash parameter area (in mtd1 0x40000 0x7bfff:
if this is the case and you are using D+M to adjust then maybe the restore was only a partial success (might haveto dig up some stuff from a full nand backup avalible at trisoft.

If beta1 also used the zaurushw thing and you are editing the right file ... hum intresting I'd like to investigate further.

If nether of these situations suits then you're probably doing something wrong ;-)

Actually, I'm talking about r198, so sorry if that wasn't clear.

Thanks...I'll look into it.
