Title: Bricked My Zaurus [solved]
Post by: SlackwareLinux on November 11, 2006, 05:30:47 am
I have a C-1000, and I was trying to install r121. I did not have u-boot on it, so I used the sharp bootloader to install it, as instructed by here. (http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/106)
I then stuck the pdaxrom files on a FAT16 formatted SD card, which has given me no problems in the past, unplugged/plugged the Zaurus, and tried to boot it up. No lights.

When I hold OK while booting, no responce. C+D while booting with the bootloader files on the card, it does nothing. Is there any hope of resurrecting it? Any ideas on how to fix this mess? I will gladly provide more information if needed, thanks. I am open to trying pretty much anything.

try the instructions [a href=\"http://mail.pdaxrom.org/node/120]over here.[/url]

Make sure there is only one card in your Z - cf or sd. With both cards in it, it will fail.

If that doesn't work : Reformat the card. Even if you already tried this, I had to try 3 times.

What do you use to write on the card ? When I put the files on it using my sansa mp3 player, it failed. When I used my mini-card-drive, it worked.

Thanks! I got it working.
I was using a sandisk card reader, which was not working.

I tried the card reader on a Brother MFC 210C printer, which took awhile, but it worked on a FAT32 formatted Cosair 1GB card.

I was pretty scared there for awhile
