Hi. I'm reposting this thread (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21863&pid=145171&st=0) here, in the hope that someone else will see it and help. Any suggestion appreciated!
I'm running Cacko 1.23 on a 3100, and I cannot get my Symbol LA-4137 card working. If I plug it in, the text appears and tells me it was inserted, but then, nothing. The lights don't blink, iwconfig doesn't list it, and the networking app's connect button is grayed out. What should I do?

Still seeing this issue. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? Any help appreciated!

what do you get when you type:
cardctl ident
cardctl status
cardctl resume
at the command line as root?
-
BTW,
the symbol card needs a firmware uploader in the zaurus as it has only a simple bootstrap in it, so if the uploader process on the Z is broken then the card won't work at all.
check also "dmesg | tail -20" when you insert the card
rather than physically eject and insert, just type
cardctl eject 0
cardctl insert 0

Change these line in your "/etc/pcmcia/spectrum.conf" :
# class "spectrum" module "hermes", "orinoco", "spectrum_cs"
class "hostap" module "hermes", "orinoco", "spectrum_cs"
Give to me your feedback

Sorry for the late reply, I had given up on this thread.
speculatrix:
I see:
Socket 0:
product info: "Symbol", "Spectrum24 LA4100 Series WLAN PC Card", "1.00"
manfid: 0x026c, 0x0001
function: 6 (network)
Socket 0:
3.3V 16-bit PC Card
Function 0: [ready]
ioctl(): Device or resource busy
ioctl(): Device or resource busy
I'm not sure what you are trying to say about the firmware...do I have to install something extra?
After inserting the card, dmesg displays:
cs: socket c3fd3800 timed out during reset, Try increasing setup_delay
How do I increase setup_delay?
sidmoraes: Those lines are already like that...
Thanks for the replies!

It sounds to me like you might have either a bad card or cf slot.
-
Nope!
I have a cf storage card that works fine, and this wifi card works fine in OZ. It's definitely a software issue.
Nice try.
