Title: Hardware Modification
Post by: washo on December 02, 2006, 01:05:02 pm
Hi all,
1st of all I would like to say hello as this is my 1st post here.
I have my zaurus C1000 for 5days now, already using cacko 1.23full

Here is my question:
I would like to use my wifi dongle directly (without my USB hub)
Is it possible to change internal resistor to increase to max output power of the USB port?
(wifi dongle is working OK when plugged in the hub)

thanks for your time

see you

Yes,  it is not guaranteed to work with every rom,  but I think it's safe.

should be around page 23 on the fourm (hardware section) otherwise i have a backup of the pages that talk about how to do it (the page of the guy who did it went offline awhile ago)

The exact resistor is marked in this picture:

[a href=\"http://www.iral.com/~albertr/linux/zaurus/wireless/5V_OTG.jpg]http://www.iral.com/~albertr/linux/zaurus/...less/5V_OTG.jpg[/url]

  I used a 1.5 Kohm resistor.

  Read the rest of it:
