I came across this developer's website: http://mamaich.uni.cc/index.htm (http://mamaich.uni.cc/index.htm). If you click on the WM5 RE link, I believe it says that his work there is a reverse engineered OS of WM5. He also built his own ROM building tools and it is all freely for download. Anyone think this work can be made to put Win 5 RE into a Z?

Err, that's for manipulating ROMs, which he reverse-engineered the format of. This is useful when you want to add or remove programs (i.e. for deployment in a company).
If you want Windows CE (WM5) on the Zaurus, grab the Platform DDK (or something like that) from MS, which is a free 30-day demo (several thousand after that). A much cleaner and easier solution than trying to modify and cram a device-specific build of WM5 from another device onto a Z.

wonder if that guy helped with the custom ROM blower on the xda developers site, that thing was great, simmilar to rolling your own winCE distro but no where near as feature rich as doing a linux distro but a whole lot easier
i have always wondered if we could just usee a rom from a manufactuurer but i highly dought it, there are alot of ROMs on the net for devices that havent been stripped but i would bet that there would need to be a t leasta bit of driver work to get it running (i am thinking mainly of the linux scoop stuff AFAIK its a sharp only thing unlike asic[1-7] used in all other (mainly designed by htc) devices

Why would you want WM5 on your Zaurus? The only thing I have ever wanted WM for after getting a Z is playing Age of Empires.

Oh ok. Thanks. I had no idea...
