Dear all Mac & Zaurus users,
you may already have noticed the Xmas present while OESF was down: a new version of the USB driver for the Zaurus is available!
Here some key changes:
* it is now a universal binary (can be installed on PowerPC or Intel Macs)
* fixes some more risks for Kernel Panics
* better handles sleep mode of powerbooks/macbooks
* now also supports the Letux Acer n30 (www.letux.org)
A word of caution: there is one known kernel panic on a MacBook: if the MacBook goes to sleep mode and if you either switch on/off or unplug a running Zaurus, this will try to wake up the Mac - and it hangs somewhere until you finally unplug the Zaurus. This finally triggers a Kernel Panic.
So, the safe procedure is: before doing anything on the Zaurus, wake up the MacBook by opening the lid or pressing a key. I hope the release 0.5.1 can fix that (kernel debugging a Mac Driver is not simple and very time consuming...).
Here is the download link: http://www.dsitri.de/download/AJZaurusUSB-0.5.0.tgz (http://www.dsitri.de/download/AJZaurusUSB-0.5.0.tgz)
And the installation manual: http://www.dsitri.de/download/AJZaurusUSB-README.pdf (http://www.dsitri.de/download/AJZaurusUSB-README.pdf)
I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Version 0.5.1 available (we never sleep ) It solves this Kernel Panic issue on MacBooks and some more potential risks.

I have been using AJZaurususb since hns recompiled on his macbook. The original compile was rejected by my macbook pro. However 0.5 works well. My macbook recognizes the Z and qtopia desktop can find my Z and tries to sync it, which it does not at this point. I look forward to installing 0.5.1 since the kernel panic issue has been annoying. Now. only if I could get something to sync!
Thankyou hns for your work.
