no, it will not run. it runs off the microdrive which the c1000 is missing.

flash pdaXrom beta3, install all the patches/extra scripts from [a href=\"http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/build/pdaXii13-custom.tgz]http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13...ii13-custom.tgz
and install all the extra packages manually from http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/feed/ (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/feed/)

a number of the patches and altered files from the custom.tgz aren't set up properly for the C1k  -- I was tinkering around, and have been going through piece by piece ...  I'm in the middle of driving cross country (in the hotel as I write this) :: so I'm short on time to really tinker right now with 16 hours in the car ... but hopefully I'll be able to incorperate Meanies patches into the C-1000 without breaking anything else ..

If you want to play around with it ... Do a NAND restore first ... You'll need to copy the diff program to your /bin directory - you also cannot run the shell script from an SD card as it replaces the module, and can't do so cleanly if it's in use.

Meanie : Which file has the customisation for right-click on a window? It's bringing up a fluxbox type window (options for roll-up, maximize), instead of the more useful rox menu with delete, move functions.  (when you [fn] click an object)

Thanks for the replies.

I've got a 4gb sd so guess I'll try it when I'm free.

what benefit is anticipated by doing this?
Has meanie tied up some of beta 3's loose ends?
Are you just sick of ipkg-link?
Want everything in a single dir?

ATM my 3100 has most software installed to the sd (thought I'd see if laying off the hd extended battery life, then got to lazy to do the tests. I think it does, a little) the only difference I see between why you are trying and my setup is that yours will be much cleaner, and probably be noticeably less responsive.

Of course... it would be interesting to have the option.

[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div] (http://index.php?act=findpost&pid=149919\")

The original intend for pdaXii13 was for a working pdaXrom for the C3000. Later C3x00 owners also asked to be able to use pdaXii13 so I started some work in supporting those models as well.
The C1000 is not suited for pdaXii13 full since it does not have a microdrive for all the pre-installed apps, however, since pdaXii13 fixes most of the bugs and shortcomings in beta3, pdaXii13 base would make sense for the C1000 as well.
Since the pdaXii13 base image was build using the disk image from C3100/C1000 initrd.bin file, and I have actually written a shell script to apply all those changes to generate the pdaXii13 base image, that same shell script could in theory be used to apply those same changes to the C1000. Of course there are C3x00 specific things that the C1000 does not need and those I think have been excluded in the script if the model is not a C3000.
I have fixed some of the mb applets and the mb taskbar and some other enhancements which can be installed separately by upgrading to the packages contained in this feed: [a href=\"http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/custom/]http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/custom/
In summary (ok for the stuff I remember)
 - updated abiword that can read MS DOC/WRI files as well as OpenOffice/StarOffice documents
 - working accessx configuration (sticky keys)
 - latest mplayer 1.1rc1 with GUI
 - updated gpe-soundbite
 - hacked gtk2 with properly sized file dialog
 - updated inputconfig.py
 - fixed matchbox-panel so it does not lose applets when screen is resized
 - added matchbox-panel applet manager
 - enhanced mb-applet-blanker so xmms ctrl is off by default and its starting values are synced with lighandpower config when it is loaded
 - updated mb-applet-cards to use Sharp SD driver instead of beta3 mmc driver, and also added an additional mount/unmount option for USB disk
 - enhanced mb-task-applet so that it runs an autoexec script at startup and also changed its icon
 - added a Reboot option to the menu
 - enhanced the rotate feature
 - added screen capture feature
 - made usbdconfig work with /hdd3
 - compiled a working xdialog (beta3 is missing fonts resulting in it to crash by default)
 - replaced xfree so the silkscreens work
 - updated the keyboard map
 - enhanced xmms with support for Sharp buttons (the back ones)

for a more detailed list read the release notes http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/tmp/ (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/tmp/) and the info page http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/pdaxii13.html (http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/pdaxii13.html)

I'll be updating pdaXii-custom.tgz with bits for pdaXii13 build 5.2
The mouse button config are in /etc/sysconfig/x11 and x11mousebutts I believe. I have not changed them.

Ok, that was what I was wondering; If you had soerted out all the crap that has to be done manually for every flash, and maybe added a goodie or two.

You say it will run on a 3100?  I might give it  a whirl, since you fixed stuff that isn't fixed on my current setup

I thought I'd try the stuff on your feed at tyrannozaurus---  mostly looks like welcome and looked for additions and updates, thanks.

However, the jamvm ipk seems to have an issue (tried by dling and using ipkg in a shell and by package manager) basically ipkg says that the ipk is not in gzip format, then tells me about a control file it cannot find and other details--presumably all a part of ipkg pining for a gzip package.  anyone know how to get this ipk installed?

well, someone needs to test it.

0. make a nand backup in case things go bad

1. download pdaXii13-custom.tgz
[a href=\"http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/build/pdaXii13-custom.tgz]http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13...ii13-custom.tgz

2. extract to cf card

3. disable SD service (/etc/rc.d/init.d/sd stop)

4. run ./install-fix-beta3.sh / from extracted directory

5. reboot

6. enjoy or panic

Sounds good, I'll try it out tonight.

Just one thing, do i have to use a CF card??
I only have SD cards..so will that work?

ohh...now i realize why i need to stop the SD service.. (to upgrade the SD driver, ya?)

humm...well, i'll figure something out..
Ill let you know..

ok, looks like I need to fix up the script a bit.

I forgot to mention, that you also need to exit X before running the script  since it updates X libraries too
as for your problems, you will need to copy sdmgr to /sbin in order to get the SD service loaded which unfortunately failed

I will upload a fixed up version asap...

Thanks a bunch for the help!!
I exited X and ran the script again.
The only things that are different now are in X it takes longer to get the icons on the right to pop up.
Also, the terminal icon on the left doesnt show up anymore.

Im a huge fan of the transparent rxvt though!! I've been trying to get a nice console like this for pdaXrom for a while but gave up. Just one thing, how do i add more tabs??

Also, i copyed sdmgr to /sbin but with no luck.
When i try to start the service it doesn't print the [ OK ]

Did you copy the sd module to the correct location as well?
There are more icons on the right, that's why they take longer to populate  which you can easily change by removing them
ok, the terminal icon png file is probably missing, but that too, you can easily add back on.

Shift+Ctrl+n for new tab

I started a bug list thread for pdaxii13 on the C1000: http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/?q=node/185 (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/?q=node/185)
If you post comments about the bugs you are finding I'll be happy to update the list at the top of the page.
