does the hand writing in 5600c and 7500c support traditional chinese ?
is it possible to just take the hand writing lib files and put in other Z model? so that other people with other Z can use it

Hi,

could someone put those files online? I would like to have a go at it too. And anyone know whether those files will work on the higher resolution screens? coz handwriting recognition doesn't work if you have to write the characters on a 1cm x 1cm piece of the screen....

I had a look at zaurus.cis92.net, but i can't read chinese =) (i am setting the zaurus up for use in a chinese shop). so it's hard to follow what was being said. but i browsed thru most of the threads and found a few ftp links where i think someone uploaded files but i couldn't find the software there. Tried mailing GCC/CECT and all, no response....

I have tried installing Chinese fonts and input software from zaurus.cis92.net. But no success.

Ever since the installation of  the Simplified Chinese input software from,
http://www.timespace21.com/eng/product/pda...ChiEng&os=Linux (http://www.timespace21.com/eng/product/pda_inputmethod.asp?lang=ChiEng&os=Linux), I am very happy with the performance of the software.

Together with Tkc MP3 Player and 4 GB Microdriver, extracted from Creative Mu MP3 player, I have been busy ripping Chinese songs from my old CD collections to the Zaurus.

Hi Freizugheit,

I downloaded Effy and love it. I can read/write Chinese both online and offline. Thanks!

I then purchased tkcplayer and installed it on my sl5600, which is flashed to Zynergy 5600 ROM.

The problem is, the tkcplayer's play list can't display Chinese correctly. I can only see square boxes and some strange Chinese characters which make no sense at all.    See my attached screen shot.

On the other hand, the default Sharp media player shows correct Chinese under both the play list tab and the music tab.

Do you have this problem? Any ideas?

Thanks!

sxia,

Glad to hear that you have progressed so good.
I have solved the display problem for song title in both englsih and chinese character on TkcPlayer.

In fact,  I realised that Shapr Media player functions better after installing TkcPlayer.  I think it might have used some of codec from TkcPlayer.  But I do not recommend to use when your MP3 is stacking in your CF as the searching and updating of the list is killing me. I prefer the media folder structure from TkcPlayer.

You need to use a MP3 ID3 tag editor from, Mp3Tag, http://www.webattack.com/freeware/gmm/fwmp3.shtml (http://www.webattack.com/freeware/gmm/fwmp3.shtml),  to remove the title, album, genre, track no.  ie leave it blank while retaining the file name in both languages.  Sorry I did not use this software as I am using Easy ID3 editor on the Mac platform.

I hope the above will help and enjoy your MP3 collections!!!

Hi Freizugheit,

After 1 week business travel, I happily see your reply to my questions. Your solution works!!!

I deleted those titles, genre, track number, etc and leave the Chinese file names. Now tkcPlayer handles Chinese song names correctly.

Thanks for your help and I love this great forum.

Hi sxia,

I think you will say Zaurus MP3 Player will be the MP3 player for you for the time being.  I love to listen to the audio output with Sony MDR-EX71 headphone.

There should be a solution in converting the MP3 tag in multilanguage for Tkc MP3 player.  Let me do some research and come back to the issue.

Do pose your problem to this forum as a newbie.  There are a lot forumers who are willing to help and make this forum to be reckoned with.

sxia,

maybe you can try to convert MP3 tag using iTunes or Convertz.  pls. be reminded to leave a null character at the end.  it is automatically done by iTunes and an option you can set in Convertz.
