I followed instructions 'by the book', but still had problems getting the game to run.
The instructions say to copy certain files from your /flashback/DATA folder to your Zaurus. This is where my troubles originated. I copied just the specifically named file types and the game always gave me an error when launched in the console. "all files not found" or something to that effect.
I messed with this on 2 different nights, Today I decided to do this, and it worked!
I copied all the files from the game's DATA directory to my Zaurus.
There is a difference of about 105 files.
Screenie below. It plays in fullscreen, but I used windowed mode for this pic.

Wow ... cool! Flash back is a really excellent game! Gotta hand it to the French!
I reckon you trid out of this world as well?
-
Actually my version was some foreign language (to me).
I renamed these 4 files, and it now displays the in-game dialogs in English.
Rename these files as follows.
engcine.bin-> fr_cine.bin
engcine.txt-> fr_cine.txt
fr_cine.bin-> engcine.bin
fr_cine.txt-> engcine.txt
No, I haven't played "Out of This World" I'll have to try it sometime.

Is it possible to play it with joystick?
-
I haven't tried a joystick in pdaxrom. The DOS version has joystick support, and the DOS version is what the reminiscence system uses.
I haven't even gotten a joystick working in cacko/sharp.
This is because I usually use the snes/turbo/neo emulator and it doesn't have joystick support.
Also, I only have one USB joystick, and it is a 25 button model.
I have an adapter to use my older gravis gamepad that has a game port, (gameport > to USB) but I haven't got it to work on my Cacko Zaurus either.

And how you pickup object ? I tried all the keys, without success.
-
Enter or shift key allowed me to pick up the holocube
In-game hotkeys :
Arrow Keys move Conrad
Enter use the current inventory object
Shift talk / use / run / shoot
Escape display the options
Backspace display the inventory
Spacebar holster/draw gun
Alt Enter toggle windowed/fullscreen mode
Alt + and - change video scaler
Ctrl S save game state
Ctrl L load game state
Ctrl + and - change game state slot
Ctrl R toggle input keys record
Ctrl P toggle input keys replay
Debug hotkeys :
Ctrl F toggle (very) fast mode
Ctrl I set Conrad life counter to 32767
Ctrl B toggle display of updated dirty blocks

Yes, but the left Shift did nothing. Only the right shift did it

I've modified znester to allow joystick and I enjoyed my Logitech Precision gamepad there, so I hoped to play the game from my past ( I've played this when was kid ... I remember ) with it.

25 sodding buttons!
Bring back the old Atari sticks with 1 button I say!
Indeed, Flashback was a sequel of sorts to Out Of This World (it was called Another World in Europe) and I think they both use the same vector gfx engine.

yeap ... FB is some kind of sequel for OOTW ... but I believe FB uses sprites for graphics, while OOTW uses vector/polygon.
btw, how would one install FB into pdaXqtrom in cacko?
