like a fool... i installed pdaXqtrom on my CF card... then quickly realized that i could not run the programs with my wireless cf card... very silly, i know.
i deleted the program and rm'ed the gtk-2.0 subdirectory and the libpng files. also removed all pda* files.
i would like to reinstall pdaXqtrom, but when i rerun the installer script, i receive a msg saying that X/QT is installed and configured" ... but, it's not...
so.
how do i reinstall properly and 2) are there any recommendations to install in a particular directory/hdd on the internal drives or... use a 1Gb SD card..???
thanks in advance for any help

try xqt-cleanup (meanie posted this file awhile ago)
I remember using this a couple times, it's been a long time ago, but it should clean up left over stuff from a pdaxqtrom install.

how about go into the QInstaller/Package Manager under the Settings Tab and uninstall pdaXqtrom like you would any other app...

resolution:
as it turns out, the entries in fstab were still 'pointing' to the cf card. once i edited those entries, everything worked just fine.
though, final question (for this thread) ... where do most people install the images? on the internal drive (hdd3, perhaps?) or an external SD??

When I used pdaxqtrom, I copied the squashfs image to a directory named /hdd3/xqt/
and then used the installer and ran it from there.
I also installed meanie's automounter. This automounted pdaxqtrom when I rebooted Cacko.

thanks, that worked quite nicely... as long as i remembered to edit the /etc/fstab file; everything worked like a charm.
having openoffice is ok, but i'm not sure how useful it will be. it took nearly 10 minutes for the first start and can't keep up with my typing (which is not very fast to begin with!).
onward and forward.
