It almost seems like "too little too late", but maybe that's pessimistic.

ATT sold them in the US years ago. I had one, it worked really well as an SMS machine. It had no voice feature. Email was OK, but not great. It did contacts pretty poorly, but it had a nice Instant Messenger client. The killer was the lack of web browser.
