I have a Netgear MA701 trying to talk to a Netgear wireless router set to wide open, 5 feet away. The card is detected by my Zaurus 5500 because the green light flashes when i turn it on. I have used the networking setup wizard for a wireless LAN - TCP/IP no email.
Obtain IP address Automatically is checked.
Non-Spec ESS-ID:\"ANY\" is checked.
key type is disabled (because it is wide open at this point just trying to get it to work)
Authentication: Open System
No Proxy
When I look at current status just get unable to detect Access Point.
My laptop running a netgear wireless card is on the same desk and has no problem getting to the Internet and detecting the access point.
What am I missing?

Will the green light light up and flash when you click on the small globe in the task bar?
What exactly happens when you try to connect?
- Does the green led just flash until it times out?
- Does the green led not flash?
Are you running any other software (like kismet) at the same time?
I have the same card and a linksys AP/router that works great. I also use the card at work with a different AP (not sure what type, they told me once, but I forgot). Never had a problem that wasn\'t related to something stupid that I did.

To my knowledge I am running no other software.
The green light only flashes when I plug the card into the zaurus does not flash or appear to do anything when I press the globe (Network) icon.

Try setting up the card with a static IP and see if that helps it. I know I had to do that for my one wireless router then it worked for DHCP after it had connected once. (Linksys card with a Netgear router)

Hmm, my 701 worked \"out of the box\" for me... Are you using the latest ROM? Can you test with with some other device to make sure the card isn\'t defective? BTW, I think the green light flashes briefly when the card receives power, it doesn\'t necessarily mean it was detected.

FYI, it worked \"out of the box\" with a 5600, don\'t know if that makes a difference.

Rom Version is 3.10
I don\'t know what other device I could test it with. This is my only PDA.
My friend who also has a 5500, his worked out of the box.
Only thing that happened before I installed the card but after I updated the ROM was the battery died because I had not charged it. Not sure the effects of that on this device since the driver is suppose to be built into the rom.
