Title: Wanted Sharprom Compatible Gps
Post by: matthis on March 27, 2007, 01:48:25 am
I am looking for a gps, either cf or usb; which will work on the sharp Rom.

It's ok if I have to install some packages to make it work, but no complicated hacking please.

I live in Tokyo.

Haicom do some quite interesting GPS adaptors... for example this one
http://www.haicom.com.tw/hi_305III.shtml (http://www.haicom.com.tw/hi_305III.shtml)

allows you to use it as a CF, bluetooth (with the slipper), serial or usb.

Hi, thanks Speculatrix for the info! It looks quite nice (if a bit bulky).

Yet, the reason I was posting here was to look for used ones, to reduce the cost. But if no one wants to part with theirs I might get one from Aicom.

Anyone not using theirs??

I am using qpegps with it.
I am using tetsuu kernel with sl-c1000, and it worked without other settings than setting the baud rate to 4800. (with tetsuu kernel modules (18h) installed).

It works very well, I downloaded lots of google maps, and walked around + turned it on while riding the train and it followed me precisely. It takes from 2~5 minutes to get gmt signals at first. I am very pleased with it!!

Forgive me for posting out of the blue.  I have been for awhile trying to get qpegps and my c3200 with my global stat 307 GPS.  I can't get the maps and the signal to work together. I get signal to work can't do map overlay and signal together.

Any input would be great.
