very, very, very doable.  Lets hope they are smart enough to throw in a USB, cf and sd slots for bluetooth or wifi option or even integrated stuff.

For $199, I would go for it without a second thought!

But I got a feeling it's going to be like the UMPC ... with its $500 promise and actual initial $1200 MSRP. So that should mark up the device to $399 or so ... still it's within the gadget budget!

I promise to get one first thing it comes out ...

Those flash-based laptops we're all dreaming about may be a lot cheaper than we expected. Asus just announced their plans to make five budget, solid state laptops this year priced from $199 to $549. Each machine will have a 7-inch display, and depending on the model it'll have a flash drive ranging from 1GB to 40GB. The lappies are expected later this year

Above is from the gizmodo page....so price STARTS at $199 but goes up to $549 it says...obviously, $199 will get you the 1GB flash drive and higher capacities as you pay more....

Absolutely, and a pony, they should include a pony for $199   Just kidding. Sounds neat and might work for my parents as a traveling email/web device.
