One thing we Zaurus owners seem to be obsessed with is size. Is it too small, too big or just right!
So, in an effort to show the merits of the C3100 against a Palm T3 (the one with the slider) and a Sony TX2 ultraportable, I knocked up a web page:
http://www.zaurus.org.uk/sizes.html (http://www.zaurus.org.uk/sizes.html)
I found another useful site comparing the N800 tablet with the N95 and other phones
http://n95blog.com/size-comparison-nokia-n95-n800-n93i-n76/ (http://n95blog.com/size-comparison-nokia-n95-n800-n93i-n76/)
The Zaurus 700 vs the Psion Revo:
http://jpoq.tripod.com/revo3.htm#size (http://jpoq.tripod.com/revo3.htm#size)
I'd be very interested if people can post pointer to pics (I will gladly host them for you if you want) showing the sizes of the various zauruses and things like the Nokia tablet.

I have an old page with a couple of pictures comparing the Zaurus with other (mostly older) PDAs and handhelds.
Here (http://www.ma.utexas.edu/users/voloch/pda.html)
Maybe I should add a picture of the mylo there.
Edit: Fixed URL and added mylo pic.

we had a gadget fest at work... see how quickly you identify all the devices!

I think it is just about right. If it was any smaller you would have to compromise the screen and keyboard. If it was so large so as to be not "pocketable" and hence would need a bag then I would rather carry something more powerful than the Z in that bag.

I could live with thinner and lighter, honestly. My Z is often in a bag with the phone, chargers, accessories an external laptop drive--and all of them together take much less space and weight than a laptop, leaving me room in my bag for books and papers and other necessities. If I'm not wearing a vest or jacket, I'm pretty aware of the Z in most of the shirt or pants pockets I resort to. The problem seems to be that anything any smaller or lighter is acomplished by amputation of something vital- like storage, or the keyboard, or battery size. And, as you say, anything bigger is unmanageable.
I doubt I recognized all the gadgets at first look--some of them, like the i-phone (and the erikson) are things I'd only seen in reviews

I think if one were to build a Z today using current technology, it ought to be possible for it to be thinner and lighter. Eg the Nokia N95 has packed quite a bit of hardware into a fairly small package.

For me, its pretty close to perfect.
I could live with a little (i.e. 10% or less) wider or deeper, but not much thicker.
Ideally, I'd prefer a screen that filled out the entire upper lid (smaller edge bezel)
and a keyboard with larger, sculpted keys (like the new Fujitsu).
Much more weight would definitely suck, and more moving parts
(HDDs, etc) I can live without.
