Title: Package manager fails to install apps
Post by: jmcneill on March 11, 2004, 09:50:50 am
:?: I seem to not be able to install anymore apps to my 760.  First install of the rom did not allow enough apps to get a scroll bar in package manager.  Reinstalled rom and could do more than first time but still not all I want.  /home is only 2% used according to df -h in terminal.  Any clues?

Yes, it is.  Isn\'t that where the rom is installed?  It says 50.0M Size and 50.0M used.

I had this problem too.

I\'m still not sure why he set up the partitioning like he did.  In any case, there is a drop-down near the top of the package manager which lets you choose where to install apps.  One of your choices is in the home partition.

(I am the first guest)  I used the /mnt/card to install on but I still go over the size, all kinds of things stop working when you have this.  Even rebooting the machine will give you a host of errors.  The partition needs to be much, much bigger for root.  I\'ve not installed the latest rom, I\'m waiting for it to stabilise a little first, as I want to know how large I really need to have my root partition, 50mb is not enough, even symlinks take space.
