start porting:D
I think i saw gimp someware... could be my imaganation.... or a c760 app.

gimp isn\'t available to the 5500... (unless of course you get xqt working, then port gimp over) it\'s available though for the Cxx0 series with the pdaxrom (x11 rom). I installed and used it on my 760, and while it was pretty freakin\' neat to see gimp running on my z, it wasn\'t all that practical... I could see using it for some basic image editing, but other than that, the screen is just too small (even the c series) to make gimp really usable.
just my opinion though...

There is an app (http://www.killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=691) for the 5500 that allows basic image editing. I use it somewhat frequently. Gimp would be too resource intensive for a handheld, although it would be cool.

If you are adventurous, you could probably do it with Pocket Workstation (http://pocketworkstation.org/).

Gimp should run fine on XQt, but you\'ll have to compile it yourself (the version in the XPda feed uses a later instruction set to that available on the 5500), plus get hold of the libs (which shouldn\'t be a big problem I imagine) - what does it use? GTK+, this is already available in the XQt feed.
I\'d say it wouldn\'t take too long to get it running (as long as the screen\'s big enough).

right... you could do it with pocketworkstation and a scroll-panel display vnc ...
I have gimp installed on my sd card with pdaxrom. it takes a while to load up and some
of the script fu is slow -- but it *is* usable for little modifications and quick work.
