Title: Battery Weirdness
Post by: stickman on July 12, 2007, 07:07:05 pm
I just got a WP50 to replace my SL4 broken touchscreen.

I assembled it and played around for a couple of minutes and left it idle on the charging dock (with AC charger connected to the top plug). At this moment the battery looked ok.

Today I had the intention to flash it to linux, but it was impossible. When I turn it on, on batteries, it will say battery is depleted at 0% and inmediately will power off.

AC charger is plugged in, but the Simpad won't turn on the orange charging light at all when a week ago it did, so it isn't charging.

Any ideas on what's wrong?

Well, I've flashed my Simpad with familiar and the battery looks like it's dead.

Anyone knows where to buy CGP345010 cells to replace my old ones?
There's some dude who sells them in ebay from Germany but charges too much for shipping to Spain (30 euros including S&H for the four cells)...

Hi stickman,

CGP345010 are to old.
The new one from Panasonic are CGA103450.

After long search i found the following pages:

-> [a href=\"http://t5r.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/e1/bllclonetests.htm]http://t5r.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/e1/bllclonetests.htm[/url]
-> http://t5r.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/e1/oly_bll.../oly-bll1_5.htm (http://t5r.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/e1/oly_bll1/html/oly-bll1_5.htm)

You could destroy such Olympus BLL-1 Clone Battery pack and
reuse the cells from them.

But take this work with care, wrong handling is dangerously.

Much luck.

Try to disassemble casing of simpad, then unplug the battery and work only on ac adapter. It should work.

Hi Martin,

try a search on ebay for -> Akkus f.OLYMPUS BLL-1 PS-BLL1 HLD-2 E-1 3400mAh (Akku-Kaufhaus).

Inside should be 4 cells with 1700 mAh each cell. That is better than 1400 mAh for current old cell.
For my knowledge 1950 mAh with Panasonic CGA103450 is current max.

And remain my warnings from other post (danger of handling).
