I wonder how this would stack up. I need to lash out! Every time I see something like this, It's like someone squeezing my nipples hard. Why these geniuses can't figure things out is beyond me. internet pda? what is this?

It's hard to understand how is it so difficult to get a zaurus and make cpu/ram upgrade, and just squeeze bluetooth/wifi/3G inside.
The design, form factor, keyboard is already there; why is it so difficult to just put a Zaurus with current connectivity standards?
Why is everyone reinventing the wheel?

Its probably the same reason why nobody could build, launch and successfully return a Saturn V / Apollo mission today.
I have read some years ago that all the blueprints are still in the NASA archives on microfiche. But you simply can't buy some materials and standard parts any more or nobody has kept special production machines in tidy conditions.
It is the same reason why there are nearly no Linux compatible WLAN CF cards on the market any more. You can't buy the chips because they had not been ROHS compliant. And nobody has seen a large enough market for a new redesign of these chips.
So, there is no chip. And no (new) CF card. And SD cards are better anyway. So, why build anything on the Zaurus design which focusses around CF?

If you had built-in Wi-fi and Bluetooth, you wouldn't need to worry about the CF slot.

And how do you connect these built-in components to the processor if they don't fit?

if it doesn't fit, you must acquit!

USB.

I've heard that not only AlbertR has fitted bluetooth into his C1000, and is soon to post pictures to this forum.
People who've closely examined the C1000 motherboard have found a set of pads on the PCB which are pretty much the same as those on the 6000W and thus in theory a bluetooth module could simply be soldered on. However, I don't know if that's been proven. Sadly Sharp have failed utterly to provide hard-core technical info on Zaurus hardware
Snag with usb wifi is that you need full speed USB2, and also some sort of usb hand-off hardware otherwise the main CPU gets bogged down.
