Title: Hanging While Configuring

While configuring ettercap for building ./configure freezes on the following lines.  Any suggestions guys?
configure: creating libtool
appending configuration tag"CXX" to libtool
Also while configuring netcat for build ./configure stalls on
checking for msgmerge...

How long did you wait before deciding it was "hanging"?
Do you use swap ? It could be a memory issue.

All night...  I do not use swap, I guess I can try doing that.
