Title: Z Emulation Or Just Get A Gp2x

I've been thinking of getting a GP2X coz of the near 100% emulation speed for the amiga platform with full sound.  

Do you believe the Z (SL-3200 to be exact) can live up to this task?  As Amiga is one of the hardest platforms to emulate and I guess the co-processor of the GP2X and the fact that its a ARM helps it achieve this task.

I guess buying a GP2X is like overlapping technology I've already purchased in the Z, unless you think about the physical form factor and the convenient AA batteries

If you already have a Zaurus, why not try to get Amiga emulation going, and, if it's not acceptable, trying a GP2X?

Yeah I already own a SL-3200.  

I think UAE on Zaurus can be done without sound, but with sound it probably cab get choppy.

The GP2X gets it's great emulation performance largely due to the strong focus of the developers on it. The Z development community is much less emulator focussed; so that while the Z is probably capable of full-speed Amiga emulation nobody is really actively working on it.

The GP2X and Z are both ARM based, so ports are possible; witness zottd's great psx4all port...

Isn't the later Zaurus model Xscale based?

I guess with the GP2X the 2 x ARM processors is a help compared to a single 400mhz Xscale.

ARM don't fabricate their own designs, they license them to other companies. Xscale is Marvell's (originally Intel's) implementation.

Multiple processors can potentially help - but good multiprocessor coding is hard, and the GP2X's CPU's are each 200MHz to the Z's one 416+MHz chip. It really comes down to how optimised each implementation is.

Ok so the question cames down to development community and since the GP2X is more focussed on emulation then that would have more headway in that particular focus.  Not to mention form factor which is a typical gamepad (:
