How about gathering all the known issues concerning the kernel and general performance here for easier reference?
It's definitely no bashing session here. Actually I am so amazed at this dream distro on Z coming true.
Note1: For specific packages wanted, use the "I Want It Compiled!" (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=24758) thread instead .
Note2: If possible, post the relevant technical details (screen output, dmesg, etc) to help track down the issue.
Here are a few items to start with:
#1 Sound
The hack only helps to a very limited extent. Generally sound is so poor to the point of being inaudible in most apps (mp3, games, etc).
#2 Video
Same as sound. Sluggish...
#3 Keys
-- Right-click key does not function in many applications (But it seems to be a driver or Xfbdev issue ...)
#4 Internal CF support
-- manfid (A-Data)
#5 CF wifi firmware/driver
-- planex wifi card (prism3 hostap)
#6 Bluetooth CF support
-- Belkin FT0820
-- Billionton
Solved (?): https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=24736 (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=24736)
#7 More power supply to USB devices
-- Mobile phones which can act as a USB mass storage device (such as SE w800i) fail to mount due to not enough power supply as reported in dmesg (but it works under pdaXrom and OpenBSD)
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using pxa27x-ohci and address 6
usb 1-2: rejected 1 configuration due to insufficient available bus power
usb 1-2: no configuration chosen from 1 choice
#8 Shifting stylus pointer
-- The stylus pointer tends to shift around. Also reported in http://wiki.neilandtheresa.co.uk/Titchy_Li...ointer_shifting (http://wiki.neilandtheresa.co.uk/Titchy_Linux/Bug_Reports/New/Stylus_pointer_shifting)
...
#XYZ (Anything else? I will add them in this first post.)

#1 : support for Belkin FT0820 CF BT
(under Angstrom it is supported and i'd to do hciattach /dev/ttyS4 bcsp to have it work)

Would it be possible to pin this thread? Thanks!

Here are a few items to start with:
#1 I want a pony!
#2 well, other than that, SDHC support would be very nice
#3 full support for CPU clock scaling. Over/Under clock, but also autoscaling on demand
#4 Software hibernation would be REALLY NIFTY
swsusp appears to be part of 2.6, TuxOnIce is an external project
http://www.tuxonice.net (http://www.tuxonice.net)
They don't seem to be x86 specific, but I've no idea if they will work under ARM.
I haven't used debian much lately; its possible some of these may already be working.

is fuse/sshfs working? I'm not sure to what extent fuse is entwined with the kernel, either- but it would be worthwhile to be sure.
BTW, how do you attach a pony to your Zaurus?

Fortunately I am not requesting support for timewarp and intergalatic travel, let alone giving me an unicorn.

i want a kernel that enables me to use my Zaurus as a teletransporter so i can move from one place to another in seconds
and i want a horse instead of a pony

USB ! (only kernel 2.8.26 and up)

... But first we need the source of pony rolled up in a tarball. And we need the recipe to cook it into pony.ko.
Furthermore where should we put this module? Under kernel/drivers/cart, or kernel/fs/equus_caballus_fs/, or simply kernel/crypto?
So, hack the pony, please!

i don't know how to understand this last message from neil :
http://wiki.neilandtheresa.co.uk/Titchy_Linux/Comments (http://wiki.neilandtheresa.co.uk/Titchy_Linux/Comments)
neil To everyone looking for kernel source: the kernel hosted here is from http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/images/spitz/ (http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/images/spitz/) - I don't know where you would find the patches and config used, but the kernel source can be found at http://kernel.org (http://kernel.org)
does that means angstrom&debian have the same kernel ?
so can we update the debian kernel with latest angstrom one???

support to planex wifi card (prism3 hostap)
-
support to hospd card with injection.

I am trying to get support set up for my new Marvel-based wifi card, WCFM-100 card. Maybe I'll manage it, but at any rate it'd be nice to have support for this card; that is, the kernel modules mcf25 and cfio. I have source, but have not yet managed to compile them.
The other wishlist thing would be to fix the sideways-mouse issue; that is, the screen rotation.
