Title: Installed Openbox_3.4.4 And Obconf_2.0.2
Post by: Jon_J on October 12, 2007, 03:49:09 pm
I installed the most recently released openbox_3.4.4 and obconf_2.0.2 on my C3200 running pdaxii13v2.
None of the 5 buttons in the 6th row worked anymore. (calendar, address, mail, home, menu)
Also there were no titlebars or menus in applications. I couldn't close applications with ctrl+q or use the "super" key with 4.
I had to ctrl-alt-backspace to exit X, in order to close any open applications.
Also, obconf 2.0.2 complained about a lib with wrong symbols (or something like that) and it wouldn't launch.

So I uninstalled the above and re-installed openbox_3.3-rc2-1 and obconf_1.6
Now inputconfig doesn't work. It spits out this error when launched.
Code: [Select]
root-:) inputconfig.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/inputconfig.py", line 315, in filterfunc
    if(model[iter][2] or model[iter][0] == model[combobox.get_data("iter")][0]):
TypeError: could not parse subscript as a tree path
When I select the "Shortcut keys" tab, and click "OK" inputconfig does nothing and spits out this error.
Code: [Select]
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/inputconfig.py", line 527, in close_and_update
    if (self.homekeybox.get_property("sensitive")):

I installed them on my C1000 running pdaxrom 1.1 beta3.

And then, the matchbox bottom bar do not fit width and position when rotated.

There may be some patches in pdaXrom that need to be applied to fix these issues.

I reflashed to pdaxii13-5.4.9 because of other issues. My inputconfig now works because of reflashing.
I thought this would help stop firefox from crashing, but my solution was to uninstall firefox and install mozilla browser. I know it's old, but it doesn't crash like firefox.

There are a number of new things that you won't be able to take advantage of without updating your configuration file. One quick and easy way to get these features is to just delete your ~/.config/openbox/rc.xml configuration file and set your config back up from there with  Obconf or by hand.

kazakov13's openbox seems not apply the event.c's patch which come from pdaxrom builder.
When screen rotate, matchbox-panel do not resize and move to screen bottom.

I patched openbox 3.4.4, and compiled it. rotate problem has solved.

I have patched it and release in New Packages Announcement, but not upload the ipk files.
Now everything is OK.
