Are people using any sort of light-weight launcher/dock app for their light-weight window manager?
I don't really like desktop icons as I tend to always have windows open and can't see the desktop anyways.
I would like a very lightweight launcher that lets me add buttons to programs that I regularly launch while using the EvilWM window manger.
Any ideas?

I've been kind of looking for one to compile (hence all of the "desktop" apps). I tried FSPanel, but it got caught in the window cycling, which may actually be what you want. Unfortunately, I don't think it supports quick launching stuff.
If somebody comes up with something/I find something on SF, I'll get it built ASAP (which might not be so soon, as my compiling goes in fits and spurts).

how about some of these:
Xdock:

AvantWN:

Peksystray:

wmmenu:

I'll look into them soon.
EDIT: None of them look like launchers, per se. WMMenu looks promising, but it needs a dock, which creates more overhead. I'll see if I can scrounge up some more, or perhaps code up a usable app.

thanks

OK, I found one. I'll compile it and be right back with a screenshot.

Here's the screenshot.

OK, it's up in my feed (the package is "wbar"). Copy this example file to ~/.wbar to get the icons, and add wbar (your CLI options here) & to your .xinitrc.

Looks great. Thanks!
I'll try it tnite.

It's not too bad on RAM usage either (~4.5%).

damn it's a nice little launcher.
Thanks man.
EvilWM is really shaping up to be a great alternative to Open/Matchbox (for me anyways).

Glad to hear that it's what you wanted, and pleased to be of assistance.
