Hi there,
I discovered my wife had a 860 for a few years as a gift but never used it. Luckily the kit was mostly there, usb cable, power cable, etc. But we cannot find the Sharp driver CD for the 860 which lets me use the USB cable to connect the 860 to the PC (XP) for intellisync and file transfer.
I googled and found that ZUG was meant to have some drivers there but the site looks broken:
http://www.zaurususergroup.org/UpDownload+MostPopular.phtml (http://www.zaurususergroup.org/UpDownload+MostPopular.phtml)
Always the fetal error line on the bottom of the page regardless of which category I go after.
Is the XP driver for the 860 available anywhere else? It's not available on the sharp site either. The unit is running original Sharp Rom 1.20J
Hope someone can help. Many thanks

Someone will undoubtedly have better information than this, but try downloading the files at this link. MyZaurus Update (http://www.myzaurus.com/ROMupdate5.asp). There are two zipped files which contain all the files that were relevant to the upgrade for the 5500. I used to use these for synching my 860. So they should work for you.
You might try the Sharp 6000 Cd files. I've found the 6000 stuff at this link SDG Systems (http://familiar.sdgsystems.com/pub/zaurus/sl6000/). Again there are two zipped files one or both of which should give you what you need. The ones that have cdrom in the title might well be the best bet.
If you feel the need, have a look at Trisoft.de and you might discover all sorts of useful information and there are some downloads that might help your progress.
If you want to get an improved 'Englis' rom then try looking at the Cacko threads.
Cheers

Hi there,
Thank you for the fast reply. I downloaded those two files but only installed Intellisync and didn't go through with the installing of 5500 as I thought the driver would be different.
But if you got yours to work then obviously the drivers are the same/compatible between 5500 and 860. I'll give it a go tonight.
Many thanks

Be aware that intellisync and the Zaurus have a very patchy relationship. I''m inclined to blame Windows, myself!
I did get the 5500 drivers to work with my 860, but YMMV! The linking and synchronising would work fine one minute and simply refuse to admit they existed the next. That has been true with every Zaurus that I have used!
A good bit of advice: start using the 'search' on this site. Most of your problems have already been encountered and solved! The trisoft manuals, freely downloadable, are also very helpful.
Good luck (I think the 860 is the nicest build of the tablet variety of Z!)

I have a SL-C860 that I bought directly from Japan, and the cd that comes with it. I'll see if I can make a iso-file of it and put online for a limited time so you can download it.
Edit:
Ok, didn't take so long time. It will be on this address in approximately 20 minutes: http://designpolizei.com/files/ZAURUS.iso (http://designpolizei.com/files/ZAURUS.iso)
Let me know when you've downloaded it (if it's of any interest), so I can take it down again.

Got it.. thanks..!!!! This is fantastic as my 860 is still running Japanese rom and intends to stay so. You're a life saver!

Good to hear . I'll let it stay there for a while, seen some posts now and then asking for it.
