I'm a long-time zaurus user with a few Zaurus models, and a lot of history with various ROM distributions, most recently an old OpenZaurus distribution, but I'm looking for something more developer-oriented and, well, alive.
I use the Zaurus as a notepad, basic PIM, and want to do more portable development on it (both targeting the Zaurus and the desktop).
pdaXrom (and pdaXii13/pdaXiiv2) look really good to me, but I've been searching here and at http://www.tyrannozaurus.com (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com) to find installation but I have a few questions:
* Is the pdaX* family a good route for me with a C7x0?
* With a c7x0, should I go for pdaXiiv2, or stick with an testing release of pdaXrom?
* Is the installation path for c7x0 still pdaXrom beta1, upgrade to pdaXii13, then upgrade to pdaXiiv2? Or can I start with a newer pdaXrom testing release and upgrade directly to pdaXiiv2?
* Would I be better off waiting a few months for pdaXrom 2 release (roadmap says December, but I know how my on-the-side development projects can be delayed...)
Thanks!

You may want to wait for a reply from Meanie regarding this.
There is a thread about upgrading pdaxrom beta1 and beta3 to pdaxii13 on page 2 here in the pdaxrom forum.
"Upgrading Beta1/beta3 To Pdaxii13, on all clamshell models"

I don't know if you have already seen that thread, but I thought I would link it here.

pdaXii13 was never properly tested on a c7x0 so not everything is guaranteed to work and since i dont have one of those, i cannot fix any problem either if you encounter any.
pdaXiiv2 is very unlikely to work on anything but c3x00 since it needs more space and also the binaries are compiled with xscale optimisations...
