Title: Via Nanobook Aka Packard Bell Easynote Xs
Post by: speculatrix on November 01, 2007, 06:03:01 pm
www.pcworld.co.uk list it for GBP500 (equivalent to US$1000), which is quite high given its limited feature set!

I'll be following the product closely to see when it comes down in price and how well linux runs on it - I'd think the Fujitsu U810/U8240/wotsit is a better bet for ultraportability.

Please see the comparison with eee PC (http://www.ultramobilelife.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=446).

It costs not more than  US$600.

The way it evolves, I would rather wait for Apple's sub-notebook in 2008.

before you buy an OQO, read comments on this forum by meanie who's not the happiest of OQO owners - it seems to have spent as much time away being repaired as actually in use!

Does the nanobook run any known distro (without some annoying hitch- like no wifi,or no suspend)?
After reading up on GPL violations and distro problems my enthusiasm for the eeepc has diminished
