I've just read this message from the angstrom mailing list. It is from Koen and it seems very interesting for all people with special requirements

is it yours this new 2.6.23 ?
how do you explain my C3000 not booting with it ?

xdivider: kernels which I gave for testing fits in flash.
Hi, I managed to flashed it successfully. I may be jumping to conclusions but given that it is the same kernel, except for the number of options enabled, the size difference is the only thing I have to work here. The same happened when I tried to flash the Korean kernel. The only thing similar between the 2 are they are both ard 1.26 mb or more whereas those that works are ard 1.23mb. I did notice when I loaded a module from the new kernel in the old one about missing preempt symbols.

Uh, unless there is a battery-death virus running around, no, it did it to me as well. But at least that got me over the fence. I am now trying to install Cortez's version.

it seems there's a new 2.6.23 kernel from angstrom for spitz available here :
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unsta...utobuild/spitz/ (http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/spitz/)
i'll try it tonight
perhaps some of our problems will gone......
-
No love for me ... altboot seems to be still having issues.

hu?
for me it is working out of the box without any problem
(perhaps because i've no altboot or such on my c3000)
i'll try my CF BT to see if it works again
-
At least not for my C1k.

At least not for my C1k.
It doesn't work on my C860 either. I've added a bit more information on an open bug at http://bugs.openembedded.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1718 (http://bugs.openembedded.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1718).

Seems like there is no interest in having altboot work on 2.6.22 or above kernels from angstrom. Not sure why, and its just based on my experiences trying to get it too altboot on my C1k.

it seems my Belkin CF BT card is working again with latest kernel 2.6.23 from angstrom.
there's an even new kernel available since yesterday
it would be great to have any changelog but........
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unsta...utobuild/spitz/ (http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/spitz/)
anyway, i'm on my way to flash it on my C3000
