Hi All,
I'm having some trouble getting my zaurus to connect to the internet with my cellphone. I have c1000 running cacko 1.23 with a sitecom cn-501 BT CF card. The card is recognized when inserted and finds my phone with sdptool browse and hcitool scan. I've even been able to pair with zaurus from the phone. I've also sent files from the phone to the zaurus.
The phone ( samsung M500 on Sprint ) is capable to be used as a modem. I've used it as modem through BT on my macbook and an ipaq.
Here's what I've done so far.
under settings I open network
use the drop down to select bluetooth- PPP
click add
under account I enter an arbitrary name and the phone number #777 (no username and password. These weren't needed when connecting from my macbook or ipaq)
click bluetooth tab.
click search.
The Z finds the phone with the correct MAC address and channel. I choose /dev/rfcomm0 and click set.
Then click ok.
I try to connect and pop says initializing until it fails.
Is there a way to pair the devices from the zaurus instead of from the phone?
Any have any experience with this?

Ha, fixed it. All I had to do was delete the profile on the phone and then try to connect again. I have to enter the BT pin on the phone each time I connect but, IT WORKS!!

should be able to go to your bluetooth control menu and mark the zaurus as a trusted device

That's the strange part. When I set up the zaurus as a trusted device, the Z will no longer connect to the phone. It only works when I connect with no profile and have to enter the pin. I'm okay with it for now though. I'm just happy to have the internet on my Z anywhere.

should be able to pair the two as long as you dont use the BT card in another device. I have the same issue when I swap the card out form my laptop into my Z. I have to blow the profile away on my phone.
C. PS if you need to setuo GPRS Edge this may help https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showto...21237&hl=o2 (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=21237&hl=o2)

Thanks for the info. On a completely different note, I noticed that you are using the same wifi card that I am using. Have you ever played video or music remotely through kino2? If so, have you ever noticed a clicking noise? Every time I play something, video or music from my server through the Z, I hear lots of noise.

Havnt noticed anything like that the few times Ive played files from my NAS box, What are the files? MP3s? are they veriable compression? Cos the only time I had anything similar to this was with mp3s with veriable compression which had issues even when playing localy. Try a fixed compression rate file see if it plays the same (lame - b 128 -cbr old.mp3 new.mp3) to force constant bit rate

yeah, the files are all different types. Mp3, AAC, Mp4 with AAC audio, Divx, Xvid you name it. It mostly only happens when I'm close to the wireless router. Maybe I need to change the channel of the router. It does however stop the clicking sound when I touch the underside of the wifi card. Once I stop touching it, the sound resumes. Totally strange.
