Title: Building Kernel Modules For Beta3
Post by: kkazakov13 on November 07, 2007, 05:04:06 am
Hi all,

I urgently need to build rt73 module for beta3 (well, few other modules too, but in general this one)

What I did so far:

1. got http://www.katastrophos.net/zaurus/kernels...1.09.05.tar.bz2 (http://www.katastrophos.net/zaurus/kernels/compiler/arm-cacko-linux-gnu-2.95.3-2.2.5-hardfloat-19.50_21.09.05.tar.bz2)

and put it in /opt/cross/ ...

2. now i need to get 2.4.20 and patch it with all the patches for beta3. However, I downloaded
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distri...2.04.06.tar.bz2 (http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/pdaxrom/download/1.1.0beta3/pdaXrom-builder-02.46_12.04.06.tar.bz2)

but i could not see patches for 2.4.20 there ... only 2.4.21 and 2.4.19

anyone that can help me on what's next i have to try ?

and eventually how i can setup the env correctly so that i can make the module.

THANKS!

IIRC, to get kernel sources, you at least start building the distro in pdaX86, then just stop and copy the sources over to someplace else. I think you can do this without installing it to your HD.
