Title: Apache, Mysql, Php?
Post by: omro on November 25, 2007, 02:26:49 pm
hey there,

been a long long time since I've used my C1000 Z, but I was wondering. Once upon a time, back in the old days of my 5500 you could install a very useful little applet that put on apache, mysql and php.

Does anything exist like that and is tried and tested for Cacko?

Thanks!

pdaXrom does it easily--don't remember apache for cacko, but it may be lurking out there

My experiences with pdaXrom on a C1000 haven't inspired me to give it another go until the next formal release. I'm not really that interested in tinkering with settings and bugs.

The apache used to work the sharp rom that came with the 5500

pdaxii13 is actually easier to manage than cacko these days--at least on the 3100. But back to the point, I guess the 5500 version should work, as you suggest. But you may have a lot of feed finding ahead. good luck!

Well as with all things Zaurus related and one of the reasons I kinda gave up

Everything was always just too much hard work, always required too much effort to find anything and to get it to work.

Far too much luck needed :-(

How cool is that, thanks! Do you know if they work?

I'll try them at some point tomorrow :-)

Thanks again, will definitely give this a try later on today when I get home from work.

Any notes anywhere about this?
There used to be, in the dim and distant past, on the old zaurus forums, a howto about how to get this to run. Does anyone know if these still exist anywhere?

Thanks

the v2 installs, but fails to run and won't deinstall
the v1 won't even install

oh well.

no clue.

I really think you should look into pdaxii13- as I said it really is easier to deal with than cacko

I might, just not sure I can be bothered with the tweaking and faffing that all things pdaX seemed to require

That's the idea-- in the "full" version meanie has done it all already--less fussing to get a complete setup than installing cacko- just install, install the hdimage (there are c1000 instructions) and you have a tweaked setup ready for use.
