Title: Debian On C3100
Post by: abm_y4k on December 14, 2007, 06:50:29 pm
Hi,

Can someone using C3100 and using debian EABI with yonggun's latest kernel(2.6.23.9) do me a favor:

save your full mta1 nand and attach the file here?

nandlogical /dev/mtd1 READ 0x0 0x00700000 /mnt/card/mta1_full

I've screwed up my NAND when playing with installation of uboot + the new kernel from yonggun.

I am trying to see if it work by using a NAND file and restore the /dev/hda1 with the fresh rootfs from: http://matrixmen.free.fr/zaurus/debian/zau..._071201.tar.bz2 (http://matrixmen.free.fr/zaurus/debian/zaurus_eabi_rootfs_071201.tar.bz2).

If work then I will create an updater.sh to automate the installation of debian on C3100.

Can anyone give advise and help?

Thanks,

The bad new I think from other places in the forum is there isn't a way to backup u-boot nand installs.

If your hda install is good, just reflash u-boot?

Its more simple by running "nanddump /dev/mtd1 /mnt/cf/mtd1_full_nand" will much safer.

then I will simply write it back.

I've huge pain following the steps in the forum. Following this (https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=24827) way, I am able to get the debian up running using 2.6.20 kernel and thats without uboot.

No matter what kernel I use, as long as I install uboot, my zaurus won't boot.... I wonder whats going on there.

Maybe If you can provide me exact steps to get debian installed on your c3100 will be nice.

Thanks,

Thats Titchy (OABI) and the nand image is EABI.  Not sure how well these will co-exist.

have you tried to follow the "quick install guide" from OESF WIKI ? Go to Q18 .... that's what you want.
