Watch out for this. This may finally be a real Z replacement.

Google is your friend.  It does look cool, but the only site I found was in Italian, and
AFAICT it was thin on details.  Touchscreen, slide-out keyboard, "internet device", with some sort of Intel cpu.  No clue about operating system, or, again AFAICT, anything about interfaces.

I was wondering how long it was going to take to show up here. 148mmx87mmx29mm. The displayed device is 1gb ram, 40gb hd, wifi, bt, hspda, 800x480 touchscreen. They keyboard has a touchpad.

This one is running Vista.

Looks *extremely* interesting. It may indeed work quite well as a replacement for the Z. The keyboard especially looks interesting. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

Interestingly enough, LG says it's for release in Asia, the UK, and Canada, but hasn't mentioned US distribution. I'm in Canada so I don't care

I did google, and even found that page. I just didn't scroll down far enough to see the pics.

This is a UMPC with Vista OS.

I don't consider this kind of device can replace a linux PDA. I think many people are expecting a new linux PDA to replace our zaurus.

just my opinion.

Isn't that a little short sighted? It runs Vista, which makes it an X86 PC.  Is it that important to be able to buy it with Linux on it from the factory?

Yes, I realize that it isn't necessarily that easy, but still...

This device has the best form factor/keyboard of the new devices - at least when you're comparing to the Z. Give it a chance - I'm willing to buy one if it lives up to that promise...
