I need help doing this because ive tried it before and failed. So a good walkthrough of installing this would help me a lot.

I heard that running this on the C1000 is slow. Is this True???

I don't know, I don't have a C1000
I do know these things though.
The SD interface is slower than most "modern SD interfaces".
On a C3200, if one uses the "full" pdaxii13 version on the microdrive, it is slower than just running the "akita" version on NAND only.
This is what I have done, but it is more involved to get everything tweaked.
I run the akita version on NAND with only the "bare bones" utilities. Then later I installed the "large" applications on my microdrive. such as firefox, Abiword.

pdaXii13 is slower on my C1000 running from a 4GB 150X SD card than my C3200 running from the stock 6GB MicroDrive. It is not terrible but it is noticeable.

Here is a full walkthrough for the Akita. After installing pdaXii13 many times, I've figured out a few things about how the rom behaves on the usual C1000 and associated hardware. These instructions are for how to get a stable, working build - I've gotten the best results after a factory reset, so make sure you backup your data before using this walkthrough.
Preparation
1. Download the pdaXii13 install files for Akita here (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/akita/)
2. Do a checksum on the files and make sure they match the data in checksum.txt
3. Download the NAND flash utility for the C1000 here (http://downloads.conics.net/pda/zaurus-sl-c700/service-menus/original-backups/)
4. Get a CF card (256MB or over) and format it in a digital camera, or in linux using # mkfs -t vfat -v /dev/sda1 (see this (http://www.vanemery.com/Linux/USB-Compact_Flash.html) site for more info on CF cards)
Factory Reset
1. Extract the NAND utility to the freshly formatted CF card. Power off, remove cable and batter, and insert the CF.
2. Hold down Fn+D+M and then insert the battery: when the service menu come sup, place the cover over the battery so it doesn't fall out while your working.
3. Use the directional pad to go move through the sections and go to Extra Menu -> Zaurus Test -> NAND Flash Full Erase and hit ok - this will mark any bad blocks as unwritable, which may help with stability. Then go to 'NAND Flash Restore' menu, select NAND restore, and hit ok to continue. It will begin installing the factory default image (Japanese Sharp ROM). When the green bar is finished and it says OK, your done.
*Remove the CF card*
4. Power off, and remove the battery, then replace it. Power back on to boot into the original Sharp Rom to make sure everything is working ok.
5. After you have booted in successfully, suspend the session and remove the battery.
6. Then replace the battery, lock the cover, and plug in the power.
Install the ROM
1. Remove the CF card and format it again. Copy the pdaXii13 install files (only) onto the card and put it into the Zaurus.
2. Hold down OK + Power on to get into the boot menu.
The order you do these next parts are important, so don't assume they can be mixed:
3. Go to NAND flash utilities and format the user partition (wait for menu to return after partitions re-mount)
4. From the same menu, select 'Fix loader 64MB limit'.
5. As it reboots, pull the battery and power.
6. Replace the battery/cover, plug in the power, and go back to the boot menu again.
7. In NAND flash utilities select 'Resize Root Partition'. Set the size to 121mb - this also prompts a reboot.
8. Repeat steps 5 & 6
9. From the main menu, select Install new ROM and let it install.
10. When it is finished, pull the CF card - this will kill the boot menu and reboot the system
*you want to make sure you don't have any flash cards in any sockets when booting your Zaurus* (and I would go so far as to do this as a rule even during normal operation with an Akita using this kind of build)
If you used to get jffs2 or crc errors, you won't after doing this install correctly.
You should then have a stable pdaXii13 Akita image all on your flash. The only other measures I would take with the Akita is - do not install the upgrade package to 5.5. If you do an ipkg update, make sure you have removed the pdaxii13v2 feeds. I've had problems upgrading the C1000 to v2 - there might be a way to do it cleanly, but I haven't figured that out yet, so I just install standard and beta3 packages only, and enjoy the stable release.

I have done the above using an SD card of 256mb instead of a CF card as when i tried my 2gb SD card, the card could not be found.
During the boot I'm seeing messages...
cramfs: wrong magic
FAT bogus logical sector size 381
Do I need to worry about these error messages?
Apart from this all seems to be now working fine and I have finally got a PdaX that works, many thanks for your efforts.

I'm using a 1gb sd card and when I try to:

I don't see "NAND flash utilities". All I see is the boot menu listed here: Boot Menu (http://downloads.conics.net/pda/zaurus-sl-c700/service-menus/maint-menu.jpg)
Even translated I'm not seeing "NAND flash utilities". Is this because of my 1gb SD card or am I missing something else?
