Hi all,
I installed the e17 package from the feed. How do I start enlightment? I tried to kick off the e17_init script (on a 3200) but it does not work.
-
Which feed?
The way I'd do it would be to edit ~/.xinitrc and replace "exec matchbox" or whatever is there now with "exec e17"

You have to reboot and choose it as your desktop handler

Hi, Capn_Fish
Your feed site is offline for a lang time.
-
I unfortunately only just became aware of it. I don't know when, if ever, it will be back up. If anybody has any packages they want from it, feel free to let me know and I'll try to dig them up.

Umm...how would I know if there's anything I want from it, since it's not available online to look at it????
-
I offer for when people go "Now where did I see that Sylpheed ipk...Oh, yeah. It was in Capn_Fish's feed. Now I need it and can't get it!"

That sounds like a D&D spell...

Here's the Packages file for my feed, so you can see if there's anything you like in it, not that it's going anywhere.

wbar and gpicviewer please.
Is it possible to compile the newest uim 1.4.2? I am sure there is import bug fixed in 1.4.2. I have try to compile it by cross compile and native compile, but always get qt immodule is none.
uim is CJK input mothed, and it is use less memory than scim. I want to submit some new chinese table for this little cool IM.

I think I'm going to tar up my feed and upload it in a new thread.
We'll see anout UIM, but it's fairly unlikely (more likely if it has very few deps/deps I already have built).

Thank you very much.

You're welcome.

Hi mikerog25,
I installed it from this feed : http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/unstable/ (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/unstable/)
package name was e17.
There's also some Enlightenment stuff here :
http://ftp.nluug.nl/metalab/distributions/...b/daal/Packages (http://ftp.nluug.nl/metalab/distributions/pdaxrom/download/contrib/daal/Packages)
-
Axetail, thanks
That feed has been dead for a while, not 100% sure why, I had read that the E17 stuff lived there and tried myself.
I will try the other site you provided. Do you (or anyone reading) still have the ipks for E17 installation?

Axetail, anyluck installing them on your 3200?

I know the owner of that site that had the e17 files in the beta3 unstable feed. I'll talk to him and see if we can bring it back up. Wish me luck because Meanie's e17 setup on pdaXii13 was pretty feature rich.

Poor Antikx never got a chance to fix this feed but, I found out by accident this evening that the files are still on the server however the package file is either not there or not visible. Using an archive.org backup of the package file should allow someone to install e17 by paying attention to the dependencies listed below and clicking on the direct links in the package field that lead to the hidden unstable feed. The only unaccounted packages on the unstable feed are scrot, xsessions, freetype, libjpeg, libcurl, libiconv, libpng, libtiff, and, libz which can be found in the still working http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/feed/ (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/feed/) and http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/custom/ (http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/beta3/custom/) feeds. I hope this helps someone out.

Description: Enlightenment file chunk reading/writing library
Eet is a tiny library designed to write an arbitary set of chunks of data to a file and optionally compress each chunk (very much like a zip file) and allow fast random-access reading of the file later on. It does not do zip as zip itself has more complexity than we need, and it was much simpler to implement this once here.

Description: SMALL-based abstract machine (AMX) bytecode interpreter
Embryo is primarily a shared library that gives you an API to load
and control interpreted programs compiled into an abstract machine
bytecode that it understands. This abstract (or virtual) machine is
similar to a real machine with a CPU, but it is emulated in
software. The architecture is simple and is the same as the
abstract machine (AMX) in the SMALL language as it is based on
exactly the same code. Embryo has modified the code for the AMX
extensively and has made it smaller and more portable. It is VERY
small. The total size of the virtual machine code AND header files
is less than 2500 lines of code. It includes the floating point
library support by default as well. This makes it one of the
smallest interpreters around, and thus makes is very efficient to
use in code.
