hi all!
i\'m currently happily running openzaurus 3.3.6 (i think thats the #, could be wrong, but it is the latest \'unstable\' version) and uname -a reports:
linux openzaurus 2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix Wed 17 Dec 2003
I would like to build my own kernel, with pre-emptive and CONFI_FS_ASYNC and all that ... trouble is, I\'m having a lot of problems finding out /how/ to do this?
Does the OpenZaurus \'build_root\' kit contain everything I need to be able to put a new zImage on my 5500 without having to re-flash everything? If someone has an easy \"how-to compile your kernel for 5500 / OpenZaurus\" guide around, please shove me in the right direction!

The OE system has taken over from the buildroot.
OE will allow you to download, patch and build the kernel, I\'ve tested this myself already (you still need GCC 2.95.3 to build the kernel even for 3.3.6pre1).
Post a reply if you need any more info. First take a look at the Getting Started page of the openembedded wiki (http://openembedded.org/).
