I attempted to install pdaxrom on my c760. I tried copying the files to my sd card as I had with angstrom and then restarting, going into the emergency mode, etc etc; but that didnt work.
I saw a post mentioning uboot, so i downloaded that from the same directory that I found pdaxrom,http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/pdaxrom/download/r197/c7x0-c860/, and repeated the process that I used above... It went through the process and said:
"Writing 00000" and then it counted upwards for a few minutes.
It got to the point where it says u-boot is now installed, now rebooting. I locked up then. Even when I disconnected the power and flipped the latch on the battery, it stayed on. After popping the battery out and popping it back in, I tried to do the emergency boot like before, no go.... Now the charge light doesn't even turn on at all...
Any ideas?

Maybe this thread will help:

Sorry I panicked first, then I started looking around for answers...
I was able to recover by doing a nand restore.
I've tried two ways of installing u-boot. First I copied the files to a fat16 128mb sd card and booted into the Sharp emergency console and tried running it through that, it's what initially killed my c760. Then I tried again after doing a nand restore and held c + d in while plugging in the AC cable. Both the led's lit up for about 10-15 seconds and then turned off. I wasn't able to turn it on and I am performing another restore.

Hey xof7 - I don't know whether you got your system fixed, but I just ran through the same process, and had similar issues. The first time I did it, I did the NAND restore too -- but then I found a message (can't find it again now or I'd link to it - thanks to OP whoever you are!) suggesting that I needed to hold the OK button down for 10 seconds or more on boot in order to get to the emergency console.
What actually works for me (with a c760) - after installing u-boot - is to remove the battery, remove A/C power, leave the battery cover off & battery switch open, then plug in A/C power while holding down OK -- it takes 10-15 seconds before I get any response at all, then it boots into the u-boot emergency system and I can install pdaXrom from there.
I was pretty sure I'd had a hardware failure the first time I tried this -- it's been a couple years since I'd used my c760, and I was worried about it. It turns out that it's OK -- it just takes an awful long time to respond to the OK & boot the emergency system.
Hope this helps.
