Title: Pdict?
Post by: JimR on August 19, 2008, 11:15:44 pm
I just acquired a copy of Eijiro, which is pretty much the definitive English-Japanese-English dictionary.  The problem is, the files are in PDICT (.DIC extension, with massive text files included) format, and I don't know how to view them on the Zaurus.
Is there a PDICT viewer available?
Or, more betterer, is there a way to convert them to a format compatible with the preinstalled Zdict or ZBEDic? (I think the Zdict format is PWING, right?)
If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
Thanks!
Jim

A late response:

I think EPWING viewers that are available for Zaurus (Zten, Ztenv, and the stock one Zdict) should be able to open PDICT files.  At least, I am able to view Eijiro on my zaurus.

Edit:

I am totally wrong, I previously converted Eijiro to EPWING using instructions here:

Where did you get that dictionary? I am always looking to expand my japanese stuff on this zaurus.

Note: I asked a friend from Japan to purchase the Eijiro for me, I don't know how to do it from outside of Japan.
