Title: BT PAN Applet
Post by: grey_moon on March 16, 2004, 04:48:39 pm
I can connect using Jens scripts from
http://www.jens-koenen.de/index.html (http://www.jens-koenen.de/index.html)

I\'m trying to get the PAN applet to work, but it keeps disconnecting as soon as its conencted.  A message pops up saying \"No connection detected Check your TCP/IP settings\"
The pan log shows

***

Starting PAN...
modprobe bnep
success!
pand --role PANU --service NAP --connect XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX --nodetach
success!
ifconfig bnep0 192.168.1.201 netmask 255.255.255.0
success!
route add default gw 192.168.1.1
success!
cp -f /etc/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf.pan
success!
Adding DNS entries...
nameserver 192.168.1.1
success!
Stopping PAN...
pand -K
success!
mv -f /etc/resolv.conf.pan /etc/resolv.conf
success!

***

I notice it stopping the PAN!

Any ideas pls?
Cheers
Moon

Still the same thing happens.. It seems to disconnect me as soon as its connected.  The dial up works fine!  Anyone know where i can grab the older version to see if that works?

hahahah the answer to the pan applet disconnecting all of the time is to turn off the firewall on your host machine
hmm will investigate what the firewall is blocking and let u all know
i even reinstalled my z from scratch before it occured to me to do that *blush*

The applet does not do anything special. It\'s the network connection applet, which does something...
