Hi,
I've uploaded the Poky & Android distro and included all necessary instructions on my Blog (http://www.omegamoon.com/blog/index.php?entry=entry080916-230236)
I hope you like it
Cheers,
cortez

I'll see what I can do. I'll try to build a kernel tonight for starters ;-)

hello, thanks for your hard work, any hope of seeing this build for c750?

hello, thanks for your hard work, any hope of seeing this build for c750?
When I finish the Akita image I could make an image for the c750. But only if you promise me to test it, because I don't have a c750 anymore.
-
Dear cortez, sorry for late feedback.
I tried the image on my sl-c3200, I let the updater do its work and when I came back I was booted into Poky.
The problem was, there was no android directory in the home folder....
Maybe something went wrong during the updater process and I wasn't there to see the error output? (out of space maybe?)
I hope to have time to try again soon.
Best regards,

I bet you checked in /home/root. Check in /home, the android directory can be found there.

hello, I would be happy to test on my C760 too

c7x0 kernel can be found here (http://www.zaurus.org.uk/ubuntu/download/c7x0/zImage-2.6.26-r11-c7x0-20080927175115.bin). You can try to get this working by flashing the kernel and extracting the /home/android directory from the spitz image (android-root.tar.gz (http://www.zaurus.org.uk/ubuntu/download/android-root.tar.gz)) on an ext3 formatted SD or CF. For the time being this has to be done manually. Kaze is already experimenting with it, and I think he uses the angstrom-minimal root file system.
@Kaze: any success on getting Android working on your c750? Did it work on ext2?
-
hello again cortez,
as you said i installed a minimal angstrom along with your kernel and modules,
i can succesfully run your akita root image on ext2
(but quite slowly compared to ext3, so now that i can insmod ext3 i m using an ext3 formatted sd)
unfortunately i get a segmentation fault error when runnin the latest 0.9 root for spitz
anyway the akita image works well although a bit slowly
-
Hmm, the segmentation fault could indicate I haven't incorporated the Android patches at all. If so, the problem is that I have to disable more kernel options to make the kernel fit the c7x0. I'll have to check whether it is possible to move over (even) more features into kernel modules.

i don't know if its any indication, but using the same kernel/modules I can run the older akita root you made, and the touchscreen is working so at least the screen patch appears to be in
-
I'm currently running debian. can I, in theory, just install the android rootfs, chroot and run it that way?

yes you could. You'll need to flash a new kernel though

Trying to test on my C760: But reboot after flashing does not work ...
-I put initrd.bin, gnu.tar, android-root.tar.gz, updater.sh and zimage.bin on an ext3-formatted sd card.
-flashing works, I say no to extracting android-root.tar.gz
-zaurus reboots, screen stays black
Can anyone help ?https://www.oesf.org/forum/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif
