Hi guys,
does any one know when beta 1 will be ready for testing?

You should be able to test stuff now (see the Zaurus quick-start here):
http://pdaxrom.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/.../documentation/ (http://pdaxrom.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/pdaxrom/branches/pdaxrom-2.0/documentation/)
Be warned that you need a Linux box to build an image with, and I couldn't get it to work under Gentoo (Ubuntu is what it's been tested with).
If that's too RTFM for you, last I heard InSearchOf was working on adding the packages that people said they wanted to the builder, which to me implies that it's fairly close, but I have no official word on that, so don't quote me on that.
Hope that answers your question.
