I started using Zaurus from SL5500 and then in 2004 got the C3000. I am a unix geek by heart. All I wanted to just run a full blown linux version on ARM to do everything a normal linux laptop does.... and believe me, I have tried every z distro (sharp, openzaurus, angstrom, debian, the kompany, pdaxrom, ... etc openbsd...) everything... they all didn't have the power and "ooomph" to do everything you would do normally on a desktop/laptop linux box on the zaurus... up until now...
I got zubuntu working, and it is amazing... it does everything i need it to do and more! i even have it on permanently as a box on my network... love it.... everthing just works! It feels as though I have the power of a linux server in the palm of my hand!
A BIG thank you to cortez at omegamoon for his efforts and everyone who has contributed to make this happen!

Pulled the 760 out of my draw of discarded goodies, had a snoop around the forums, since its been a while and wow..what do i find!!
Yep, outstandingly fun stuff getting it all to work on my 760. Amazing job cortez and hehe +1 !!
Got wpa going nicely through the command line using an ambicom card and slammed in a host of security tools just for amusement value and now im busy installing away.. Things are a bit slow but its a 760 with new life breathed into it for kicks so im very happy.
Pidgin segs out but plenty of alternatives.. What browser do you guys suggest?
Once again Thanks!

And it just gets better when I get the 2.6.28 kernel in a bit more stable state, because that's when I upload the 9.04 based Zubuntu image somewhere.

What's wrong with uploading a new image and adding the kernel when it's ready?
*Waits impatiently*

I tried Zubuntu in January and I agree that it is an amazing feat and easily the most polished 'Debian' distro for the Z.
However, I do a lot of security based work and for me it is important fot the wireless card to operate in promiscuous mode so that tools like tcpdump can see all the traffic on the associated wireless network. I was not able to do this on Zubuntu so I've gone back to OpenBSD. If anybody can show me how to do this then I'll be very tempted to come back!
Excellent work, Cortez!
